This page is dedicated to my dear sweet cousin who was killed in an automobile accident on June 8, 2007.  She was a recent graduate of Smithson Valley High School.  Ten days before she was killed she wrote this paper for a scholarship essay which was going to be given out the first week in August.  Here is her story:

In our efforts to keep Megan L. Herring’s spirit alive and to spread her message of putting God first in her life, her family will honor a senior volleyball player from each of our area schools, Smithson Valley, New Braunfels, and Canyon High School, with a Megan L. Herring Memorial Scholarship.  This scholarship will assist a college-bound student/athlete with her future endeavors to reach her goals.
